Ours is a model school and strongly believe in good healthy life and hygienic environment. Therefore, our teachers edify our students about hygiene and cleanliness. Dr. Bindesheswar Pathak, Founder, Sulabh Sanitation Movement, launched Sulabh School Sanitation Club programme in various schools. Now it has been spreaded over many states in the country. In Delhi itself this programme is being run in over two dozen schools.
Educating cleanliness, sanitation, optimum utilization of natural resources like water, is critical in the formation of proper attitude of all students. All those who are school children today will be adults by 2020 and Sulabh, by focusing on children today by nurturing and shaping their knowledge and behavior today, intends to make the future generations stronger, healthier and more alive to social realities and needs in respect sanitation and safe water use. The goal of Sulabh School Sanitation Club is to mould the total personality of an individual in relation to the community sanitation in particular and thereby to the ecosystem as a whole. The aim of the Club is to focus on the child as the key human resource and the schools as knowledge centers. It seeks to focus on the education for behaviors change, fully recognizing that the community is an equal partner and by trying to involve community in finding solutions and later on communicating messages through them to people at large is the best way to solve the problem. Hygiene education combined with live skill acquisition should have a lasting impact on homes and communities.
